The On Ramp Difference

Why reinvent the wheel? With On Ramp, you can provide cost-effective, ELDT-compliant theory training right out of the gate.

Deliver better training for less money

Online training is far less expensive than hiring an instructor for the same number of hours. Assign On Ramp training videos as a prerequisite so your instructors can spend their valuable time on “next-level” skills and individual evaluation.

24/7 Access to Training

On Ramp online courses work on any device that connects to the Internet. Students can start a course on their tablet or smartphone and finish it later on a computer without losing their place.

Automate data collection and record-keeping

Keep track of student data, including written test scores, hours logged behind-the-wheel, and other reporting requirements. On Ramp also automatically administers tests and sends completion data to the DOT.

Maximize Instructor Time with Group Training Mode

Instructors can also use Group Training mode to cover entire courses in the classroom. Once the instructor completes the course, students automatically get individual assessments. Our system records the completion data and shares it with the TPR.

Future-Proof Your Training Content

All our online courses are evaluated on a regular basis and updated quickly based on new rules and requirements, so you’ll always have the most up-to-date content for your drivers.

Combine Industry Experience with Proven Quality

ITI has been providing computer-based training to the trucking industry for more than 20 years and is endorsed by truck drivers and safety trainers alike. We also served in an advisory capacity on the new ELDT curriculum, so we have an inside view into the new requirements.

Train and Test Drivers in All 30+ Core Curriculum Areas

ELDT requires a slew of new reporting and record-keeping requirements, registration with a yet-be-created Training Provider Registry (TPR). The TPR will help the DOT keep track of both approved training providers and drivers who complete training through them. On Ramp can help you manage these new requirements quickly and automatically:

  • Maintain secure records of all required student data.
  • Automatically send student test scores and completion data to DOT.
  • Log number of hours spent on behind-the-wheel training.
  • Provide DOT with proof of certification upon training completion.
*Many details of the TPR are still pending. We’re working closely with the DOT and the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA) and monitoring developments as they arise. Our goal is to make data integration between the TPR and On Ramp ELDT seamless and automatic.

What People Are Saying about on ramp

"On Ramp is critical to my school's ability to comply with the ELDT mandate. It allows us to meet all the theory curriculum, testing and reporting requirements, and we like that the content can be presented both online and in a classroom. It's also great that students can access lessons on their mobile phones."

Jim Butler, Director CDL Training Program, Blue Ridge Community College

“The ELDT regulation is going to require all training providers to certify that they ensure that they are teaching a curriculum that meets the requirements. Training providers, who use CVTA curriculum providers like ITI are reducing their risk of being non-compliant.”

Don Lefeve, President, Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA)
